Formulation

• 200mg Trimethoprim
• 1g Sulfadiazine
• Vitamins and Minerals

Trimethroprim and Sulfamethoxazole

• Both have broad spectrum activity
• Both are rapidly absorbed with good bioavailability following oral administration : 1-4 hours with peak levels after dosing
• Both inhibit DNA synthesis

Indications

Bacterial infect·ons that are sensitive to Trimethoprim-Sulfamethoxazole

• APP – pleuropneumonia
• E. coli – colibacillosis, edema disease
• Streptococcus – meningitis, arthritis
• Salmonella – systemic Salmonellosis, co itis
• Pasteurella – atrophic rhinitis, pneumonia

Synergistic Effect

• Alone, sulfonamides are bacteriostatic agents and trimethoprim is bactericidal
• In combination, sulfonamides become bactericidal

Vitamins and Minerals

• Counteracts the effects of stress such as disease outbreaks, vaccination and transfer.
• As support in maintaining body condition of animal while the animal is recovering and the antibiotic active ingredient(s) is/are battling the pathogen/infection
• Sulit! No need to buy extra product (vitamins & minerals) while addressing or preventing the disease challenge.

Indications

Aquamed TS  is used for prevention and treatment of swine respiratory and systemic infection such as MMA, scouring, greasy pig disease and arthritis.
In poultry, it is used in the prevention and treatment of Infectious Coryza, CRD-E.coli Complex, Pullorum disease, colibacillosis, fowl cholera and coccidiosis.

Dosage and Administration – Swine and Poultry

• Prevention: Dissolve 5 grams in 4 liters of water and give for 5 days continuously
• Treatment: Dissolve 10 grams in 4 liters of water and give for 5 to 7 days continuously
*Ensure enough fresh water is available during the course of the treatment.
